Based loosely on the tragic tale of Antigone by Sophocles, The Watch is a novel by Joydeep Roy-Bhattacharya that takes place in present-day Afghanistan.
Similar to my approach with Odysseus in America, I created images that refer to the original tragic tale, with emphasis on Antigone's strong will, compassion and ultimate tragic condemnation.
My work is featured on the book website and in the end papers of the first edition published by Hogarth / Random House, Inc.
